
Can I extend my Sky to other rooms?
YES!!
Ever wanted to go to bed and watch the end of the programme?
YES!!
Then here's how you do it: Extending your Sky to other rooms in your house.
Firstly you will need x metres of high quality RG6 Coaxial cable, Coax connectors 1 Coax couplet and a remote eye.
Optional extras: 2nd remote control. 4Way Compact Booster and FTwist Connector.
How it's done
Take a look at this diagram too see how it works. The remote eye sits in between your television (tv) and and the sky box.

Your first port of call will be to measure how many metres of cable you will need to get to the room that you want to view your sky in. Then pop to your local shop and purchase the cable (If your cable exceeds 12/13 metres you may need a signal booster, please see this section for differences in setup).
After you have routed the cable, you will need to trim the cable and apply the coax plugs to each end.
The remote eye can either be plugged directly into the back of the tv or you can make a small cable to plug the gap (remember to purchase the extra plugs if doing this).
You must now activate the power on the 2nd RF out port.
To do this follow these steps:
Menu > Services > System Setup > 01 Select > RF Outlets > Turn Power On > Save
The 2nd port should now be active, there should be a light on the remote eye to say it's receiving power. You should now be able to use your remote on the new tv.
Need a boost?
Due to the signal output from the 2nd RF port, the 'good' cable length for a good quality signal to your tv is between 10 and 15 metres. You may find that you get more or less depending on things like electrics, wireless wifi, bluetooth items etc. that may cause interference and shorten your run.

How do I fix this?
Well, luckily it's quite easy and fairly inexpensive.
We use the SLX branded 4 way amplifier with F connectors and have found no problems with these. They allow tv's to be connected and are compatible with the remote eye (beware as not all amps/splitters are).
This device takes it's power from the port and ampifies the RF signal. It slim and light so can be hidden quite easily.
You will however require F Twist connectors instead of coax to connect to this device.
